About Entrepreneurship Development Cell

ED Cell - Overview
ED Cell was established in the year 1996 in Sri Venkateswara University.
Sponsored by National Science and technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), DST – New Delhi.
It caters to the requirements of the entire university including affiliated colleges & public as well.
The coordinated efforts of the various departments contributed to its success. ED Cell - Vision
To grow in to a regional centre for technology transfer and entrepreneurial development by developing close links with other organizations, university departments and the industry for the benefit of the students, communities and rural people so as to enlarge the base from micro enterprises at village level to SSI units at urban level.

ED Cell - Objectives
To create and develop an entrepreneurship culture in the university / region as to develop small scale industries and enlarge the entrepreneurial base of the region.
To introduce the entrepreneurship in the curriculum of UG/PG levels as a subject.
To conduct entrepreneurship Awareness camps, entrepreneurship development programmes, Faculty development programmes, motivational camps, seminars & workshops.
To conduct research work and survey of business opportunity.
To design, develop and maintain data base so as to act as regional information centre on opportunities, process, technologies, marketing, etc..
To conduct training programmes for existing entrepreneurs so as to enable them to improve their performances.
To organize industrial exhibition, technology exposition meets for entrepreneurs looking for new project ideas.

The University stands as a testimony to the wisdom and foresight of great visionaries Late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra and Late Sri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, to cater the educational needs and aspirations of the people of Rayalaseema area. With a great wisdom, the founder of this University have rightly coined the motto Wisdom lies in proper perspective for it.
